What is CAMEE?
CAMEE is a coalition of Mechanical/Electrical engineering firms within ACEC.

What CAMEE Intends To Do
The Council of American Mechanical Electrical Engineers (CAMEE) was formed to provide up to date information to member firms on how to best serve their clients. The fact that some of those clients are actively involved in the development of projects using the concept of Green Buildings has added another aspect to the world of Mechanical Electrical engineering. Engineers now must address the normal aspects of building design plus the more restrictive requirements of the LEED criteria.
This is a new direction for many MEP firms. While the results of the green building designs enhance the environment, many additional requirements are levied against the designers not previously considered. These include indoor environmental quality, energy & atmosphere, life cycle assessment, and commissioning. While the environmental quality, energy and atmosphere considerations have always been a factor in the design of buildings, LCA and commissioning are new to the designers list of considerations.
The new Building Information Modeling (BIM) system, including the advances in design capability and potential liability will continue to be a focus issue for CAMEE.
