Why was CASE formed?
Structural engineers were found to be one of the highest risk engineering disciplines. CASE was formed to discover the reasons why and to develop solutions to the problem.

What is the mission of CASE?
CASE's mission is to improve the business practices of the structural engineering community, provide education and tools to decrease a firm's professional liability exposure and increase the standing of the structural engineer in the construction industry.

How does CASE fit into ACEC?
CASE is a Special Interest Committee or subgroup of ACEC made up of structural engineering firms who are already ACEC members.

Who is eligible to join CASE?
Membership is open to all private sector structural engineering firms or multi-disciplinary firms with structural departments.

What are the benefits of joining CASE?
Benefits include a number of standardized contracts especially for structural projects, national guidelines and commentaries to provide a basis for dealing with clients, a subscription to Structure magazine and meetings and seminars at ACEC conventions among other things.

What are the dues?
First the firm must be an ACEC member. After that, introductory dues are dependent on the size of the firm. 1-9 personnel $500; 10-49 personnel $1000; 50-99 $1500, 100 and above $2000.

What makes CASE unique from other structural organizations?
CASE is the only organization dedicated exclusively to improving profitability and the business and management practices of structural engineering firms.
