Federal Markets Conference

Small/Large Firm Teaming Fair
Monday, April 16, 2012
3pm-6pm

Due to last year's success, the ACEC Annual Convention in Washington will once again feature a "Teaming Fair" designed to bring together large and small A/E firms for work on government contracts.

At the Teaming Fair, representatives of many of ACEC's largest firms and others will interview small firms for subcontracting opportunities. The space provided will allow for expansion of the number of large firms involved. Last year's 22 large participants included AECOM, URS, Jacobs, CH2M Hill, Tetra Tech, and more of our nation's largest firms.

Government contracting (federal, state, and local) remains significant during this tough economy, government clients are pushing for more small firm participation in contracts; and ACEC's Teaming Fair is scheduled as both (a) a unique opportunity for small firms to access new business and (b) an opportunity for large firms to meet government contracting goals and identify new resources.

Representatives of large firms will conduct one-on-one interviews with small firm representatives based upon pre-scheduled appointments. Small firms interested in participating in this program should register for it at the same time that they register for the convention, the sooner the better as appointments will be handled in advance on a space-available basis.

After registration for the Fair, small firms will receive a matrix of needs (e.g. skills, location, experience, ownership category, etc.) provided by each large firm, with a request to identify those firms whose needs they can match and wish to meet with.

Because of anticipated high interest in this program, small firms will be asked to prioritize their meeting requests. Small firms will be encouraged to have their SF 330 Part IIs or other qualifications information available as part of the interview process.

In order to be scheduled for the 2012 Large/Small Firm Teaming Fair, individuals must be first be registered for the convention.
