Discover Montreal
University of MontrealAn international destination of choice, Montréal is easily accessed by land, water and air. Downtown is a mere 20 minutes from the airport, which handles some 200 flights daily. Visitors will find this compact island city great for walking, and can easily—and safely—explore its vibrant neighborhoods on foot, at any time, day or night. Montréal is vastly multicultural, boasting more than 80 ethnic communities, and enjoys an outstanding reputation worldwide for gourmet dining.

Public transit is not only affordable, it's also a great way to get around the city. Quick, safe and clean, the metro connects downtown to major tourism attractions, as well as to numerous bus stops and train stations.

Montréal's renowned duality of Old World charm infused with North American energy lies at its very heart. It is the plurality of cultures that really makes this metropolis tick. After spending time here, you'll notice that without the complex mix of flavors — ethnicity, culture, language, ideas, cuisine, you name it — warm camaraderie and sheer joie de vivre, anywhere else just seems bland.
