Description: Mark van Soestbergen, founder of the International Carbon Bank & Exchange, and a nationally known expert on climate change, discusses "carbon footprinting," defined as a measure of "the impact of human activities on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced and measured in units of carbon dioxide."

As a member of the faculty of ACEC's Green Infrastructure and Sustainable Communities course, van Soestbergen foresees that "climate change will change parameters of all infrastructure and processes," and that "everything can and will be expressed in carbon. A project's carbon footprint will be an increasingly important evaluation criteria." He will work with course participants to "establish your organization's carbon footprint and extend that practice to client work."
