How Do I Create A Record for Online Registration?
  1. From the ACEC website, select "Login" located at the top , right of the page.
  2. Select "New Visitor Registration"
  3. Enter "Email Address" and "Last Name". Duplicate
  4. Select your location from the display of one or more options.
  5. Populate the fields with your information, select "Finish"
  6. An email to activate your account will be sent to the email address provided during record creation.
How Do I Register for an Event?

Find and select the event category at the ACEC Education Calendar (Courses & Workshops , Online Seminars and Conferences & Conventions).

Locate the options (Event Details and Registration) opposite the preferred event.

To register using a faxable registration form, select "Event Details".

Scroll to the bottom of the page, select "Click here for a faxable registration form". If an online seminar, select one or more events, scroll down and enter your registration information and select your payment option. (Please send checks along with the faxable registration form. Both must be received by the scheduled date of the event ). Print the form and fax with credit card information to the secure fax 202-789-7220 or mail with check to ACEC Continuing Education as specified on the form.

An email confirmation with login instructions attached will be manually generated and emailed from Education@acec.org to the address on record.

If a record exists in the ACEC database for the registrant listed on the faxable registration form, the registration confirmation and login instructions are automatically sent to the email address on record. We'll make every effort to include any alternate email address provided on the faxable registration form to receive a copy of the confirmation and login instructions.

If there is no current ACEC record for the registrant, a record will be created by ACEC and the email address listed on the faxable registration form will be attached to the record.

To register electronically, select "Registration".

  1. Enter your email address and password. The event selected and your contact information along membership status will be displayed, select "Continue".
  2. Check the box opposite the "Event", select "Continue".
  3. Check the box opposite "Professional Developments Hours" to have the hours attached to your record, select "Continue".
  4. Check the box opposite "Special ADA Requirements for Full Participation" if you have a disability and require special needs to attend any event not hosted online. If this option does not apply, select "Add to Cart". Follow the prompts to complete registration and receive an electronic confirmation. An email confirmation with login instructions attached will be manually generated and emailed to the address on record from Education@acec.org.
  5. A credit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard) is the only form of payment accepted for online registration.

Why Am I Charged the Non-Member Rate?
  1. Your company may have an ACEC State Membership but not an ACEC National Membership. They are two separate memberships. Contact your ACEC State Organization for verification http://www.acec.org/getinvolved/mowebsites.cfm.
  2. There is a technical problem with your record that can be resolved by calling ACEC Continuing Education at 202-347-7474.
  3. You may have more than one record. Call ACEC Continuing Education at 202-347-7474 for assistance.

Can I Use My Login to Register Someone Else?

No. You can only register yourself using your login information.

Where Is My Login Instructions?

After registering for an online seminar you will receive two seminar confirmations.

  1. The second confirmation is generated manually. The login instructions are attached to an email sent from Education@acec.org to the email address on record for the registrant. Login Instructions are sent within 24 hours of receipt and sooner the day of the seminar.
  2. Check your spam filter.
  3. The confirmation will be sent to the email address on record for a registrant. If you register a colleague using their ACEC record you cannot substitute the email address in the record.
I Registered for an Online Seminar and Missed It — What's My Options?

Registered attendees that miss an online seminar are considered a "No-Show" for which a refund is not provided. It is recommended that a substitute attendee to an online seminar be designated.

Payment Options

Payment options accepted are American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Check.

Can I Pay by Check with Online Registration?

No. The only form of payment accepted via online registration is American Express, Visa, or MasterCard.

Is the Cost for an Online Seminar Per Attendee or Per Connection?

The registration fee covers a connection. As many colleagues that can fit into a room to view an ACEC online seminar can do so with the purchase of one connection. Each connection used must purchase a registration to an online seminar.

Does ACEC Have Registration Discounts?

For every three connections to one online seminar purchased by your company, the fourth connection for the same online seminar is free.

What are Professional Development Hours (PDHs)?

Professional Development Hours (PDHs) are learning hours earned and accumulated by licensed professionals in the A/E/C industry for the purpose of license renewal. The PDHs can only be issued by accredited providers of A/E/C education. ACEC is an accredited education provider under the Registered Continuing Education Program, which is administrated by NCEES (the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying), the body responsible for engineer and surveyor licensing.

How Many PDHs are Issued for ACEC Online Seminars?

ACEC's online seminars carry 1.5 Professional Development Hours.

I'm Not an Engineer, Can I Use PDHs to Renew My License?

ACEC program content is not submitted to other organizations for approval. An option would be to present the PDH certificate and program description to the board that approves your continuing education credit with a request that they review the content and decide if credit can be granted.

Are PDHs Accepted In the State Where I'm Licensed?

Professional Development Hours (PDHs) earned by attending ACEC education programs are accepted in every state except New York. However, New York will recognize PDHs from only two ACEC courses which are titled Green Infrastructure and Sustainable Communities as well as Building Information Modeling (BIM).

How Do I Request PDHs?

Upcoming online seminar attendee? The registrant to the seminar will receive either the day before or the morning of an online seminar, an email package that includes login instructions, PDH Request Instructions, and the slide presentation. The slide presentation is to be distributed only with the permission of the presenter.

Past online seminar attendee? Contact Education@acec.org to have PDH Request Instructions emailed to you.

More than one attendee needing PDHs? The PDH Request instructions will accommodate space to list more than one attendee to receive a PDH certificate. The cost of one PDH certificate is included with registrations — additional certificates are available at cost.

When Can I Expect to Receive My PDH Certificate(s)

Certificates are generally processed within 30 days or less from the time they are received.

What's the Cost for Extra PDH Certificates?

1 to 9 additional attendees — $25 per certificate (PDH records maintained for a minimum of 6 years)
10 to 20 additional attendees — $20 per certificate (PDH records maintained for a minimum of 6 years)
20 + additional attendees — $15 per certificate (PDH records maintained for a minimum of 6 years)

Can I Get PDHs for ACEC's Recorded Online Seminars

Yes, Contact Education@acec.org to have PDH Request Instructions emailed to you.

Is ACEC an Approved Provider in Florida?

Yes. ACEC reports professional development hours (PDHs) on behalf of the registrant contingent upon registration and attendance to an ACEC National education event including conferences and conventions. The engineer's license number must be included on any request for professional development hours (PDHs) noting the license number is for Florida. Contact ACEC Continuing Education at Education@acec.org for more information.

Where Do I Find ACEC Recorded Online Seminars?

Recorded online seminars are available for purchase at the ACEC Bookstore within a week after being recorded. The ACEC Bookstore is located at www.acec.org under "Resources".

I Attended the Live Online Seminar - Do I Get the Recorded Version Too?

No. Your registration covers the live online seminar only.
