ACEC’s Board of Directors has elected four new members to ACEC’s Executive Committee, with two-year terms beginning at the upcoming 2011 Annual Convention in Washington, D.C.
Ted Williams, executive vice president of Landmark Engineering, Inc. in New Castle, Del., will become the new chairman-elect, succeeding Terry Neimeyer who will begin his term as ACEC chairman on March 31.
Newly-elected vice chairs are: Blake Murillo, chairman/CEO of Psomas in Los Angeles; Scott Perkins, vice president of Wilson and Company, Engineers and Architects in Albuquerque; and Richard Wells, vice president, corporate development of Kleinfelder in Greensboro, N.C.
ACEC/Oregon Executive Director Alison Davis will serve as the NAECE representative on the 2011-2012 Executive Committee.
The new officers will join Terry Neimeyer, Sergio “Satch” Pecori, Paul Grosser, Miller “M.L.” Love, Robert Paulsen, and ACEC President Dave Raymond on the 2011-2012 Executive Committee.

| Draft Regulation Would Impact ESOPs
In comments submitted to the Department of Labor this week, ACEC expressed concerns about proposed changes regarding who is considered a fiduciary for retirement plans.
The rule change would negatively affect employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) because it would include appraisers of ESOPs as fiduciaries. It would increase the costs of establishing and maintaining ESOPs and could diminish retirement security for employees.
