ACEC is the business association of America's engineering industry, representing more than 5,700 independent engineering companies throughout the United States engaged in the development of America's transportation, environmental, industrial, and other infrastructure. Founded in 1909 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., ACEC is a national federation of 51 state and regional organizations.
ACEC takes a leading role in promoting the engineering profession through the national and local media. The Council works with reporters, editors, publishers, and broadcasters to provide engineering spokespersons, legislative and policy views, and feature articles on ACEC's advocacy and business interests and the contributions of private engineering to the quality of life.
The Council's communication tools are used to advance the Council's political and business mission. The Council provides timely information to member firms, government officials and opinion leaders, and the media. Media coverage of ACEC's legislative and business activities reinforces the political strength and prestige of the Council.
