State and local spending accounts for three-fourths of all capital expenditures on public infrastructure.  In the last five years, more than thirty states and dozens of local governments have undertaken major infrastructure funding initiatives, including growing revenues through increased user fees and facilitating more public-private partnerships.  In this session, officials from state and local governments will highlight the steps they’ve taken to boost investment in their transportation networks and water systems and how they are advancing critical projects, including winning strategies for public engagement.  They will also outline their federal legislative priorities for Washington as Congress and the Administration continue to develop infrastructure bills and negotiate spending priorities.
