The 37th Annual Deltek Clarity – A/E Study reports: “”Project Management is the heartbeat of a successful A&E firm, so it is discouraging to note the downward trend in the number of projects being reported as on or under budget.
…Contributing factors seem to be:
- “inexperienced project managers”
- “competing priorities”
- “poorly executed project management procedures”
According to this same study, 87% of firms reported that their PM discipline was somewhat or very immature! With increased competition and the war for talent, A/E firms need to do a better job of training and attracting the best project leaders.
