SUMMARY:DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Briefing
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, March 7\, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Eastern \nAs a follow up from the ACEC Federal Agencies and Procurement Advocacy (FAPA) Committee’s Winter Meeting\, officials from the Department of Defense (DoD) including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will brief current policies and future requirements of the DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program. \nThe defense industrial base (DIB) faces increasingly frequent\, and complex cyberattacks. To strengthen DIB cybersecurity and better safeguard DoD information\, the DoD developed the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program to assess existing DoD cybersecurity requirements. The CMMC model is designed to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) shared with defense contractors and subcontractors during contract performance. The CMMC Program implementation date is 60 days after the publication of the final Title 48 CFR CMMC acquisition rule. CMMC assessment requirements will be implemented using a four-phase plan over three years. The phases add CMMC Level requirements incrementally\, starting with self-assessments in Phase 1 and ending with full implementation of program requirements in Phase 4. This phased approach is intended to allow time to train CMMC Third Party Assessment Organizations (C3PAOs) and for companies to understand and implement CMMC assessment requirements. \nThe costs and requirements that this new contract language will place on small firms are significant\, and it’s imperative that firms do not wait to assess their cybersecurity. \nA pending proposed FAR rule on Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)\, which certainly relates to CMMC\, is available for ACEC comments. The deadline for member company feedback is Wednesday\, March 12. \nDo not miss this opportunity to hear directly from DoD about their upcoming cybersecurity requirements.

SUMMARY:DBE Next Steps: A Four-Part Online Series to Prepare You for Change
DESCRIPTION:The DBE program as we know it is on the brink of transformation. With anticipated changes driven by recent court rulings\, the protections and preferential treatment that DBE firms rely on may soon be reduced – or even eliminated. Jones\, CPA\, CPCM | Stambaugh Ness \nAccounting Systems for DBE Firms\nApril 30\, 2025 from 1:30-2:30 PM Eastern \nA compliant accounting system is crucial for financial stability and contracting success. It is the expectation of DOTs that firms follow consistent practices when bidding\, booking\, and billing costs. This online class dives into the 15 requirements of the SF 1408 and provides strategies to fortify your existing system or identify a new software to meet DOT standards. Learn how to segregate costs\, identify unallowable expenses\, and optimize your software for success. \nLearning Objectives: \n\n\n\nDiscover the components of an adequate accounting system\nUnderstand the importance of segregating direct and indirect costs\nGain clarity on job costing\n\n\n\nPresenter: Robert E. SUMMARY:Rewards that Resonate: Today’s AEC Firm Total Rewards Strategies
DESCRIPTION:March 19\, 2025 from 1:30-2:30 PM Eastern \nUsing data from EFCG’s annual talent and compensation surveys and insights from our client relationships\, this session will bring a structured approach to thinking about what makes up the employee experience and what strategies firms are implementing to impact a key element that sits at the foundation of that experience: total rewards. Julie Hasiba\, EFCG Managing Partner and Talent & Compensation Practice Lead\, will reflect on the impact those strategies will have on the employee experience and the firm’s ability to successfully connect with and recruit and retain talent. Julie will then welcome panelists on stage to share their own journeys in developing a total rewards strategy that resonates with their culture and people and how these approaches have impacted recruitment\, retention\, and value creation. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nA structured framework to help attendees think about what makes up the employee experience as they develop priority focus areas\nWhat total rewards strategies architecture\, engineering\, and consulting firms are implementing that attendees can consider for their own firms and teams\nHow these total rewards strategies are expected to impact the employee experience\, with examples from panelists\n\nPresenter: Julie Hasiba\, Environmental Financial Group Consulting
