Parsons Corporation Goes Public
Charles Harrington, chairman/CEO/president of the Parsons Corporation, celebrates his company's IPO at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday. The firm sold 10.9 million shares, the stock price rising from the opening bell price of $27.00 to $30.28 by mid-morning.

Futurist Salim Ismail Forecasts Exponential Near Term Societal Changes
Speaking to attendees at the ACEC Convention in Washington, DC this week, Futurist Selim Ismail was not shy in sharing his thoughts how society and humankind will change over the coming few decades. Based on past patterns of exponential growth in a host of technologies, he forecast that within four years combustion-engine automobiles will no longer be manufactured; solar energy will be capable of powering all of global electricity needs within 12 years, and channeling another futurist, the United States will no longer exist within 25 years.
