U.S. construction spending in January increased 1.3 percent over December, the largest monthly gain since spending was up 1.7 percent in April 2018.

ACEC Supports Tax Extenders
In a statement submitted to the House Ways and Means Committee, ACEC called for the multi-year extension of the Section 179D energy-efficient commercial buildings tax deduction and the production tax credit for certain renewable resources such as biomass and geothermal.

Alabama Passes Gas Tax Increase to Fund Infrastructure Investment
On Tuesday, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed a landmark transportation funding law, increasing the state gas tax by 10 cents per gallon over the next three years. All the proceeds will fund road and bridge construction.
