Update on IRS Rules for Meals and Entertainment
Beginning in 2018, no deduction was allowed for entertaining clients, employees or referral sources. Most business meals remain 50 percent deductible. One often overlooked exception is office-wide parties or picnics for employees, which are 100 percent deductible. Confused? Don't be. We asked Michael Baker of Moses Dent to break down the rules.

Senator Amy Klobuchar and Mayor Pete Buttigieg have confirmed their participation in the Moving America Forward: A Presidential Candidate Forum on Infrastructure, Jobs, and Building a Better America. at the University of Las Vegas on Sunday, February 16. ACEC is part of the host committee for the forum.

Smart Cities: What Really Makes Them Smart?
Recently, I had the pleasure of taking part in the Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress in Singapore, where leaders from around the world gathered to discuss the future of mobility. My presentation – Emerging Mobility Solutions and Smart Cities – was among many that explored vital mobility topics, from technology innovation to data management to sustainability to many others. But, by the conference’s end, one burning question had yet to be answered: What makes a smart city – smart?
