ACEC Annual Convention Features Stellar and Diverse Line-up of Speakers

CBS News’ Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Margaret Brennan leads a stellar and diverse line-up of featured speakers at the 2022 ACEC Annual Convention and Legislative Summit in Washington, DC, May 22-25.

Brennan, who also moderates CBS News’ premier Sunday public affairs program Face the Nation, will both share her insights on the key foreign affairs issues of the day, including the war in Ukraine, and report on what she’s learned from her interviews with world leaders including Presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump, U.K Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Scott Harrison is the founder and CEO of charity: water, which creates public installations and innovative online fundraising platforms to spread international awareness of the global water crisis. In ten years, with the help of more than one million donors worldwide, charity: water has raised over $260 million and funded over 24,000 water projects in 24 countries. When completed, those projects will provide over 7.3 million people with clean, safe drinking water.

Nicole Malachowski was the the first woman Thunderbird pilot, fighter squadron commander, and White House Fellow and advisor, but her distinguished career was cut short by a devastating tick-borne illness left her struggling greatly to speak or walk for almost nine months. She fought back against overwhelming odds and prevailed and now shares her story with others, empowering people with three key beliefs: failure and risk is the price of entry for achieving something great; sometimes you need to yield to overcome; and her personal mantra – “nobody wants to lead a scripted life.”

As the leader & chief engineer, of the NASA Mars 2020 Mission, Rover Perserverance, Adam Steltzner was hailed as a cross between “Einstein and Elvis Costello.”  An aspiring rock star turned Ph.D. rocket scientist, Steltzner has been praised as a cutting-edge innovator and a leader who literally brings out the very best in his teams. The author of The Right Kind of Crazy: A True Story of Teamwork, Leadership and High Stakes Innovation, which was named a “best leadership book of the year” by the Washington Post, Steltzner addresses the question in his presentations: How great do YOU dare to become?
