ACEC Illinois Initiative Promotes STEM Careers

ACEC Illinois launched a STEM program this week with the Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois Tollway and a coalition of industry partners. The initiative aims to generate interest in engineering careers for Illinois students and is part of a larger effort by the Illinois DOT to educate and hire engineers in the face of a national shortage.

“Filling engineering jobs is going to be vital to designing, engineering, and building the state’s priority infrastructure projects,” said ACEC-IL Executive Director Kevin Artl.

The Member Organization has created a webpage that lists information resources for students and educators, an extensive list of Midwestern engineering schools, contact information at the DOT and Tollway, videos, and career day resources.
