ACEC Online Class Next Week on Risks, Pitfalls and Opportunities in Construction Administration

When it comes to construction administration, every design firm faces common pitfalls, but there are also opportunities that you may be overlooking.

In the July 7 online class, Construction Administration: Risks, Pitfalls, & Opportunities, Thomas Harkins and Robert Stanton of Willis A&E will discuss site visits, duties, and the inherent risks.

You’ll explore non-compliant work, reduction and elimination of your role, scope creep, and handling requests to terminate contractors as well reduced or terminated site visit responsibilities.

You’ll also examine the standard of care and review some actual claim case studies and lessons learned specific to California, as well as:

  • Identify key duties and obligations of the design professional during the construction phase of a project
  • Specifically address emerging issues such as Design/Build, Substitutions of Materials and Components and Value Engineering
  • List and discuss potential claim exposures that can arise during the construction phase
