ACEC President/CEO Linda Bauer Darr’s Statement on President’s Budget

“During his State of the Union speech, President Trump said that rebuilding America’s crumbling infrastructure is not an option, but a necessity.  However, his FY 2020 budget fails to reflect that same sense of urgency and is a step backwards when we need Washington to step up.

This is problematic at a time when lawmakers on both sides of the aisle see a real opportunity to move forward with a strong infrastructure agenda in 2019 that includes greater investment.  Congress needs to stay focused on this goal, not only investing more in core federal programs that fund roads, airports, transit, and water systems, but also in securing the long-term solvency of the Highway Trust Fund.”
