ACEC’s Darr Urges the Senate to Continue Working Towards a Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill

Following defeat of a cloture vote in the Senate on a comprehensive infrastructure package, ACEC President and CEO Linda Bauer Darr issued a statement today urging Senators to continue to work towards a bipartisan solution on infrastructure.

“The American people expect their leaders to work together to solve problems. That’s what the engineering industry is doing every day – designing safer roads and bridges, producing cleaner water, and developing more reliable and sustainable energy sources. We know there are thoughtful and dedicated Senators on both sides of the aisle continuing to work together to craft a generational investment in the built environment that will bolster economic growth and provide transformational change for the American people.

“Today’s vote isn’t the end of the process. The growing chorus of labor and industry adding their support to the bipartisan infrastructure framework demonstrates that momentum is only building for its passage. We urge Leader Schumer and Leader McConnell to support their colleagues in this effort.”
