ACEC’s Linda Bauer Darr Urges President, Congress to Boost Infrastructure Funding

In advance of today’s meeting between President Trump and Democratic Congressional leaders to discuss how to fund their proposed $2 trillion infrastructure package, ACEC President/CEO Linda Bauer Darr said they shouldn’t be wary of raising new revenue.

“The political playbook has changed,” Darr said in a nationally syndicated Associated Press article. “People will vote for infrastructure even if it means new user fees.”

Republican leaders have downplayed the possibility of raising the gas tax or other fees to fund an infrastructure program, but in a letter to the Democratic leadership, President Trump wrote, “I remain committed to passing an infrastructure bill.”
