Next Week’s Online Class: Transitioning Project Managers into Firm Leaders

A Time of Transitions: Project Managers to Firm Leaders

Thursday, May 13, 1:30-3:00 PM (Eastern)

Transitioning project managers to firm leaders can be challenging in the best of circumstances, but the pandemic has made it even more difficult.

Many of these challenges are obvious. Communicating on tools such as Zoom can be frustrating. Direct contact and the human touch on projects is often lacking. Mentoring of project managers is often absent or of low priority. And training opportunities are dwindling as conferences, meetings, and other education sessions have been canceled or reduced to online only.

Yet the reliance on remote work and virtual systems has effectively guaranteed that the project managers who respond effectively will be the ones to excel and will possibly become the firm leaders of tomorrow.

Join Howard Birnberg fo the Association for Project Management to learn critical ideas and concepts to help you transition your project managers to firm leaders. During this 90-minute session, you will:

  • Examine how to protect PM development from the current problems confronting your engineering firms;
  • Review the characteristics of effective project managers;
  • Explore the importance of a written project management manual and the value of mentoring programs; and
  • Flag leadership issues and learn how to correct them.
