Private Market Symposium in Boston Draws Attention

ACEC held its first ever Private Markets Symposium on the healthcare and science+technology markets in Boston last Friday.  The event drew attendees from the engineering and business community to network and hear from a variety of speakers including Aaron Jodka, National Director of Capital Markets Research at Colliers, Ben Bradford, Vice President of Economic Development and Workforce for the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio), Douglas J. Manz, Partner and Chief Investment Officer with The HYM Investment Group LLC, Peter McPhee, Senior Program Director with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) Buildings Team, Jason D’Antona, PE, LEED AP is the Director of Engineering & Utilities at Mass General Brigham, and Margot Mansfield with the MA Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs and Indrani Ghosh, PhD with Weston & Sampson.

According to Erin McLaughlin, ACEC’s VP of Private Market Resources as quoted by Engineering News Record, which covered the symposium, “the decision to hold the event is a reflection of both how the life sciences sector has become a major growth area for A/E companies and the emergence of the Boston area as the “hottest market in the when it comes to these markets.”

“The A/E industry is seeing that our developer clients in the commercial real estate space are increasingly moving towards designing—and even building spec space—that particularly targets life science tenants,” she said.  Read the whole ENR story here
