Small Business Issues/Small Firm Council

The ACEC Small Firm Council (SFC) and its members are on the forefront in identifying and resolving major issues that affect small business concerns across the country. It is the sincere goal of the Small Firm Council to positively support and represent on an ongoing basis, the many excellent firms that lend us their support.

The ACEC Small Firm Council (SFC) is pleased to announce its 2012 Scholarship Program and is currently seeking contributions.

The SFC scholarship, administered by the ACEC College of Fellows, is awarded to a student seeking a Bachelor's degree, at minimum, in an ABET-accredited engineering program or in an accredited land surveying program. As small firm owners, we have all witnessed the stiff competition from other disciplines and professions eager to obtain the best and brightest young talent from a dwindling pool of engineering graduates. One way to enhance the ability of students in pursuing their dreams to become professional engineers is to offer incentives in educational support.

In addition, the SFC scholarship offers an excellent opportunity for your firm to recommend eligible candidates for our scholarship. If your firm already has a scholarship program, remember that potential candidates can also apply for the SFC Scholarship or any other ACEC scholarship currently available.

Your monetary support is vital in supporting the SFC and ACEC increase the number of scholarships to those students who are qualified, and more importantly, interested in becoming engineers. You can make a tax-deductible contribution by filling out the donation form.
