Reimagining Federal Infrastructure Policy to Boost Urban Innovation: Elected Officials and Top Consulting Leaders Join Forces to Present a New Strategic Playbook for Our Cities

The panel session will feature a broad overview of the “Playbook for a New Infrastructure Partnership”, including a discussion of policy recommendations covering each of the four major themes of the playbook:

  • Funding & Financing for Community Serving Infrastructure,
  • Making Transformative Investments for a More Resilient Future,
  • Empowering Locality with Effective Tools and Processes, and
  • Maximizing Investments for Job & Small Business Growth.

Speakers include a session overview from Los Angeles Mayor and Accelerator for America Chairman Eric Garcetti and remarks from U.S. Representatives John Katko (R-NY) and David Price (D-NC) invited, followed by an industry panel discussion with Mr. Sean McMaster, National Practice Consultant for the Advisory Services, Strategy & Transformation group, HNTB; Mr. Steve Lefton, President & CEO, Kimley-Horn; and Mr. John Porcari, Former President, US Advisory Services, WSP.

Join in a candid discussion with a bipartisan panel of key House leaders as they discuss the agenda in Congress for the remainder of 2020, as well as early priorities for the new Congress and candidates for President in 2021.  Are there windows of opportunity still during a lame duck session in November and December, and how quickly will Congress re-start the drive to move major infrastructure legislation in 2021?  Invited panelists include Democratic Senior Whip Stacey Plaskett (D-VI), Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY), Representative Rodney Davis (R-IL), the ranking Republican on the Highways and Transit Subcommittee, and Representative Garret Graves (R-LA), the ranking Republican on the Aviation Subcommittee.
