ACEC Federal Agencies Committee Talks With USACE, NAVFAC, USDA, NPS, and VA at Winter Meeting

At its Winter meeting on February 10-11, the Federal Agencies and Procurement Advocacy (FAPA) Committee heard from key federal clients on opportunities available, changes in contracting policy, and what to expect with the new Biden administration.

The Committee met with the Army Corps of Engineers and NAVFAC, where members discussed concerns of increased agency non-QBS procurement of Construction Management (CM) services.

In addition to military clients, the committee met with civilian agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs; the National Park Service, on its implementation of the new Great American Outdoors Act; and the Department of Agriculture, on recent changes in Buy America policies.

The USDA also provided an overview of Water and Environment Programs (WEP). WEP finances the acquisition, construction, or improvement of drinking water, treatment, storage and distribution, sewer collection, transmission, treatment and disposal, solid waste collection and disposal, and stormwater collection, conveyance, and disposal.

The Federal Agencies and Procurement Advocacy Committee is an open committee that undertakes advocacy efforts with Congress and federal agencies to promote the interests of ACEC members engaged in contracting with the federal government. To learn more or join, please contact Dan Hilton.
