The Engineering and Public Works Roadshow has been recognized with a Power of Associations Silver Award by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in The Power of Industry and Professional Advancement category ACEC’s successful Engineering and Public Works Roadshow initiative.
The Roadshow is a joint project from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the American Public Works Association (APWA), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The Roadshow is the first time America’s engineers and operators have come together to celebrate successful infrastructure investment projects.
The Power of Associations Awards recognize and celebrate the extraordinary contributions associations make to society year-round. They are the premier program honoring associations that exemplify how the association industry and professionals are essential to a stronger America and world.
“Congratulations to ACEC for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent, and on society at large,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight this award-winning initiative.”
The Power of Industry and Professional Advancement category recognizes associations that have addressed industry and professional advancement by developing innovative educational and professional development opportunities; engaging in public relations and communications campaigns to further an industry or profession’s reputation; and conducting research to enhance the collective body of knowledge for an industry or profession.
The Silver Power of Associations Award underscores the value of the Roadshow to promote the essential role of engineering to key state and federal audiences, not to mention the next generation of engineers. The Roadshow’s mission is to remind the public and policymakers what good infrastructure means to society, the economy, and the environment – and to encourage the next generation of engineers and public works professionals to enter our industry and help develop clean, equitable, and sustainable infrastructure.
