Earlier today, the United States Department of Transportation announced the appointment if 12 members to its Advisory Board. By statute, the Board is tasked with:
- Developing strategic recommendations for infrastructure modernization and expansion;
- Identifying key investment opportunities in transportation technology and innovation;
- Providing insights into regulatory and policy improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce bureaucratic obstacles; and
- Advising on public-private partnerships to maximize funding and impact.
ACEC is pleased to announce that Kimley-Horn Executive Chair and ACEC Research Institute Chair Steve Lefton has been appointed to the Board. Other members include executives from fields of economics, law, finance and logistics, including:

- Michael Capasso, Chief Executive Officer, C.A.C. Industries

- Brigham McCown, Chair and Founder, Alliance for Innovation and Infrastructure

- Trent Morse, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Presidential Personnel, Executive Office of the President
- Mark Tedesco, Chief Executive Officer, Academy Bus

In a press release, DOT Secretary Sean Duffy was quoted as saying:
“We’re bringing 12 business leaders, industry experts, and innovators together with decades of experience in the field who will provide invaluable insights to deliver results for the American people. This team will be essential to executing President Donald Trump’s bold agenda to build big, beautiful things again and I could not be more excited for what is to come.”
Upon the announcement, Steve Lefton posted to his LinkedIn page the following message:
