ACEC Statement on the Senate Budget Bill

Linda Bauer Darr, president and CEO of the American Council of Engineering Companies, issued the following statement on the new Senate bill text:

“The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) urges the Senate to pass “One Big Beautiful Bill” which will drive America’s economy forward. This package protects pro-growth tax policies that support job creation and economic competitiveness.

As the ACEC Research Institute found, 82% of engineering firms used savings from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to hire more employees. The Senate bill would extend those savings in a new, future-focused tax law that spurs innovation and workforce development.

The bill aligns closely with the tax priorities ACEC members brought to Capitol Hill during our recent Annual Convention and reflects the results of our sustained advocacy.

Additionally, while we were pleased to see tax incentives continue for energy sources like nuclear and geothermal, we remain committed to working closely with Congress to protect and expand the tax policies that increase energy production, including renewable projects already in the pipeline.
