The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) released a statement in support of key legislative proposals that will help ensure the reliability and resilience of the U.S. energy grid as demand grows.

“American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) supports an energy policy framework that promotes reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy infrastructure across the United States. Moreover, our members are keenly focused on public policies and engineering solutions to meet growing power demands, driven significantly by the energy needs of data centers and artificial intelligence (AI). H.R. 1047, the Guaranteeing Reliability through the Interconnection of Dispatchable Power Act, and H.R. 3062, the Promoting Cross-border Energy Infrastructure Act, will help modernize the grid and increase power generation sources to meet the higher demand.

“ACEC advocates for public policies to promote advancements across various energy sources, including natural gas, nuclear power, and renewables, to ensure a reliable and resilient energy system capable of supporting a growing economy.”

H.R. 1047 and H.R. 3062 are both under consideration by the House of Representatives this week and would address long-standing challenges around permitting, interconnection, and cross-border infrastructure. ACEC supports these commonsense steps to modernize the grid and enable innovation while ensuring the U.S. energy sector is prepared for the accelerating demands of the digital age.
