At its Fall Conference in New Orleans, ACEC welcomed the 2024 inductees to the ACEC College of Fellow. ACEC’s College of Fellows is a federation of engineers selected by their peers in recognition of both their professional achievements and contributions to their communities. Fellows are charged with enhancing the image of engineering and with conducting outreach to encourage and recruit future engineers.

Ed D. Alizadeh

Ed D. Alizadeh is a director at UES, a professional engineering firm with headquarters in Orlando, Florida and over 90 branch offices employing 4000 people in 20 states. He was formerly CEO of Geotechnology from 1996 until the company joined UES in 2021. Ed served as a Vice Chair of ACEC from 2020-2022.
Doug Alvine

Omaha, Nebraska
Douglas Alvine has been president of Alvine Engineering since 1990. He previously held many positions with ACEC Nebraska, including serving as president. Additionally, he has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln.
Terry Atkins

Terry Atkins is Chief Operating Officer at Lamp Rynearson, Inc. He has volunteered extensively with ACEC Nebraska and held a number of positions including president and national director. He is a graduate of the ACEC Senior Executive Institute Class 12 and has been a driving force behind transformative projects in Omaha.

Matt Crafton is president and CEO at Crafton Tull. He is a licensed professional engineer in seven states and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Air Force academy and master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He has volunteered with ACEC Arkansas board of directors and served as its president, vice president, and treasurer, among other roles.

Shahin Hekmat is a director of quality assurance with Chen Moore and Associate, Inc. He has served the industry as ACEC Florida’s national director and president. Additionally, he was co-chair of the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute and received the Florida Engineering Society’s Award for Outstanding Service to the Engineering Profession in 2023.

John Kissinger is president and CEO of GRAEF. He has provided volunteer leadership to ACEC-WI on the board of directors and served a year as chair. Additionally, in 2021 he was given the prestigious Edmund Friedman Professional Recognition Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
