Black & Veatch Collaborates to Produce Movie Promoting Experiential Learning

Black & Veatch, the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) and Overflow Companies have collaborated on a feature-length documentary touting the profession-based education model, in which high-school students fast forward their careers via outside mentors in their chosen fields.

The film Where Students Lead chronicles the impact of experiential learning through interviews with students, parents, educators and professionals participating in the CAPS network across the country.

“It’s not just for smart kids; it’s for kids who are dedicated and willing to persevere to reach their dreams,” said Clint Robinson, associate vice president for government affairs at Black & Veatch. “CAPS doesn’t have to be in a bright, new shiny building as long as educators and students are willing to teach and learn differently, respectively, and buseinsses want to share what they do with a younger audience.”

Where Students Lead will premier tomorrow night at a theater in Leawood, Kan. It will then have screenings in Bentonville and Little Rock, Ark., St Louis, Peoria, Ariz., Minnepolis, and Park City, Utah.
