Expanded EEOC Reporting Revived; ACEC Continues Opposition
A ruling by a federal judge has revived a wage reporting requirement from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Information can be found on the EEOC website.
Firms with more than 100 employees, as well as federal contractors with more than 50 employees, file the EEO-1 form annually. The form provides employment data regarding the gender and race or ethnicity of employees in various job categories.
The expanded form includes pay information from employee W-2s.
ACEC has opposed the wage reporting requirement since it was proposed in 2016. The Council challenges the idea that this increased administrative burden on firms would advance the agency’s mission, particularly as federal contractors already submit compensation analysis as part of their Affirmative Action Plans.
The pay data requirement was put on hold until the recent court ruling.
