The ACEC International Committee will be hosting a virtual meeting with USAID staff to receive an update on their international infrastructure priorities and how American firms can compete and win work overseas. As the world’s premier international development agency driving significant development results, USAID’s work advances U.S. national security and economic prosperity, demonstrates American generosity, and promotes a path to recipient self-reliance and resilience.

This virtual meeting will be Friday, December 15 at 11:00 ET/10:00 CT.

Representing USAID will be:

Gerald Smith
Senior Advisor
USAID Office of Acquisition and Assistance

Hourig Deldelian
Senior Acquisition and Assistance Specialist
USAID West Bank/Gaza Mission

The President’s FY 2024 budget for USAID includes several key priorities, including competing with China in Sub-Saharan Africa, strengthening the United States’ role in the Indo-Pacific and providing humanitarian, economic, and reconstruction assistance in Ukraine, along with supporting efforts in the Middle East.

It is important that USAID hears from American engineering firms interested in this work and this key agency understands the challenges to attracting more American engineering firms to work on these important projects and missions.
