Member Firm News: AMT’s John S. Claytor, PLS Appointed to Virginia Professional Board

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) proudly announces that John S. Claytor, PLS has been appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia to the APELSCIDLA (Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers, and Landscape Architects) Board. John was officially sworn into this position at the Governor’s office on August 22, 2023.

This APELSCIDLA Board is part of the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), an executive branch agency overseeing 18 regulatory boards and programs. The APELSCIDLA Board examines, licenses, and regulates approximately 35,000 individuals and related business entities in Virginia.

John brings with his appointment over 40 years of experience in land surveying and geomatics on projects involving transportation, civil infrastructure, and other public works improvements. His term with APELSCIDLA Board continues through June 30, 2027.
