New ACEC Private Industry Brief Shows Strong A/E Revenue Growth

ACEC published a new Private Industry Brief this week, highlighting a huge rebound in A/E revenues. Based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s “preliminary estimate,” A/E revenues in the first quarter of 2021 rose to $85.6 billion, a 7.8 percent increase over the fourth quarter of 2020.

Looking forward, the forecast from the National Association of Business Economics calls for 8.5 percent annualized GDP growth in the second half of 2021, fueled largely by expectations of passage of a big infrastructure package.

The eight-page report looks at the five macroeconomic trends for the second half of 2021, delves into the continuing surge in single-family residential, highlights the increasing use of alternative and high-frequency data in economic forecasting, and provides outlooks through 2025 on five key private market sectors.
