Construction Delays: What Engineers Need To Know And Do
Wednesday, January 19, 1:30-3:00 PM (Eastern)
On civil construction projects, engineering firms are often tasked with providing oversight during the construction phase. But what can YOU do when a construction project is delayed? Savvy contractors know how to ensure that their CPM schedule updates recover or hide their delay while at the same time showing the owner delaying the project (whether or not it is true).
In this webinar, TRAUNER Director Mark Nagata will provide a clear and concise description of CPM construction scheduling and will show real-life examples of how contractors hide their own delays and request time extensions for which they may not be due.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand key construction scheduling and delay terminology
- Identify ways that contractors hide their delays in their schedule updates
- Learn how to find contractor-caused delay in their schedule updates

Can the Deal Craze Continue? 2022 M&A Outlook for Engineering Firms
Thursday, January 20, 1:30-2:30 PM (Eastern)
Engineering transactions soared to record levels in 2021. Confident strategic buyers and private equity firms aggressively acquired firms of all sizes and disciplines. Sellers, motivated by higher valuations, tax law changes and limited internal transition options, joined larger firms for exit strategy and professional legacy desires. As talent remains scarce and the benefits of the recent infrastructure bill come into view, what’s ahead for a consolidating industry going through massive realignment?
In this session, Steve Gido a principal at ROG Partners, breaks down current M&A trends and tactics and addresses key issues in today’s M&A market, including:
- What’s driving frenetic levels of M&A activity? Is this healthy for our industry?
- How are engineering deals commonly put together – a framework from courtship to closing
- Understanding valuation models and approaches
- Best practices on successful integration

Get the Latest Updates on Federal Vaccine Mandates
Friday, January 21, 1:00-2:30 PM (Eastern)
The OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard and the federal contractor mandate (under Executive Order 14042) both have deadlines that are currently set for early in the New Year that could affect millions of employees and firms in the private sector. Both requirements have faced legal challenges that may at least delay their application, but the prospect of these requirements is still very much a reality.
In this session, Olaoluwaposi Oshinowo, Craig Smith, and Eric Leonard from Wiley Rein, will provide the up-to-the-minute status of these two critical issues and will discuss how your firm can continue preparing for their implementation as courts continue to evaluate and rule on challenges to the requirements.
