Tax Extenders Bill Introduced in the Senate
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles Grassley (R-IA) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR) introduced legislation today to extend a collection of tax provisions that expired in 2017 and 2018.
The expired provisions include the Section 179D energy-efficient commercial buildings tax deduction, as well as the production tax credit for certain renewable resources such as biomass and geothermal.
In addition, ACEC joined a broad coalition of associations in sending a letter to Congress urging them to act swiftly on the tax extenders. Although the Senate bill is an important step forward, a timeline for legislation action remains unclear.
