Trump Administration Releases Affordable Clean Energy Rule
The Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) rule finalized by the Environmental Protection Agency today mandates that power plants reduce carbon emissions but does not put a cap on those emissions.
The rule calls for existing plants to reduce greenhouse gases by improving their efficiency and allows each state to determine how tightly to control emissions from power plants within their borders.
States will have three years to submit their plans to reduce power plant emissions to the EPA for review.
