U.S.Construction Spending Almost Flat in July
U.S. construction spending edged up just 0.1 percent in July, climbing to a seasonally adjusted annual pace of $1.29 trillion.
Public construction spending rose 0.4 percent, with state and local governments accounting for all of the gains. Education and water projects accounted for the bulk of the increase. Federal construction spending fell 2.4 percent in July.
Private construction spending dipped 0.1 percent. Single-family home rose 1.4 percent while spending on apartment, lodging and commercial construction fell.
