Todd D. Adams serves as the Deputy Director of the Utah Department of Natural Resources. The Department is comprised of nine Divisions (Forestry, Fire and State Lands; Law Enforcement; Oil Gas and Mining; State Parks; Recreation; Utah Geologic Survey; Water Rights; Water Resources; and Wildlife Resources) and two Offices (Public Land Policy Coordinating and Energy Development).
For 31 years, Todd was an Employee of the Division of Water Resources. Todd was appointed and served as the Division Director from 2019 to 2021. Where he oversaw the Division’s day-to-day operations and served as the Interstate Stream Commissioner for the Bear and Colorado Rivers. Previously he served in additional Division leadership positions as the Deputy Director for 6 years, Assistant Director for 7 years, Legislative Liaison for 12 years, and as the Chief of the Hydrology and Computer Applications Section and the operational Cloud Seeding Coordinator for the State of Utah for 6 years. Before that he worked as a staff engineer tasked with water demand and supply modeling for the Wasatch Front, the State of Utah, hydrology and hydraulic dam modeling, as well as individual river models.
A native of Logan, Utah, Todd graduated from Utah State University (Go Aggies!) with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Utah. He currently serves on USU’s Industrial Advisory Board to both the College of Engineering and the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. He and his wife are proud parents of three beautiful daughters, two wonderful sons-in-law’s, and are grandparents to three awesome grandkids.
