ACEC New York to Celebrate 100-Year Anniversary

ACEC New York to Celebrate 100-Year Anniversary

ACEC New York will celebrate its 100-year anniversary on August 12 with an event in Schenectady.

U.S. Representative Paul Tonko has been invited to present a Federal Centennial Proclamation, followed by proclamation presentations from the New York State Senate and the New York State Assembly.

Clarkson University President Anthony Collins will give the keynote address, and special guests include Assemblyman Phil Steck, NY Office of General Services Deputy Commissioner Bridget O’Hanlon, NY Thruway Authority Executive Director Matthew Driscoll, NY Environmental Facilities Corporation COO Molly Larkin, and State University Construction Fund Assistant Director for Design & Engineering Matt Moore.

The Metropolitan-based New York Association of Consulting Engineers was formed in New York City in 1921. In 1957, the Consulting Engineers Council of New York State, Inc. (CEC/NYS) formed with seven regional chapters throughout the state.  And in 2000, the NYACE and the CEC/NYS merged to form ACEC New York. It is the second-largest state organization in the ACEC federation, representing 210 engineering companies that employ more than 35,000 people.
