Ten States Account for Nearly 60 Percent of U.S. Construction Market

Of the 11,208 U.S. public and private construction projects tracked by the research firm GlobalData, almost 60 percent are in just 10 states.

California leads the way with 1,302 projects worth $524.6 billion. The state is also home to more megaprojects than any other state, with its ten largest projects valued at $139.5 billion.

Texas is next with 1,034 projects at a total value of $425.1 billion. Energy and utility projects account for more than 1/3 of the activity, followed by mixed-use developments and infrastructure projects

Remaining states in the top ten are New York, Florida, Louisiana, Virginia, Washington, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
