Latest ACEC Private Market Brief Issue Updates Top Five Macroeconomic Trends
In the latest ACEC Private Market Briefs-Economic Outlook Q2, we review the top five macroeconomic trends, including business economists’ predictions for the timing of next recession. We also look at A/E services revenue data, examining which markets have shown growth, been stable, or declined in the last year, as well as which states are showing economic momentum.
After two quarters of small declines, the U.S. Census Bureau’s “preliminary estimate” of total A/E revenues rose slightly in the second quarter of 2019 to $89.37 billion. The increase suggests that although economists are searching for signs of a recession, the A/E industry has yet to slow.
A/E/C economic indicators remain positive, showing continued confidence within the industry, and billings and backlog have been consistent.
