Heather Ashley-Nguyen is the Transportation Planning and Development Director leading a diverse team of over 100 employees managing planning, programming, design, environmental, and right of way for the Austin District’s eleven county region.  Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Heather’s over 24-year career includes both private and public sector work.  She currently manages a ten-year portfolio of projects totaling over $10B in estimated construction.  Heather was honored the 2024 Gibb Gilchrist award for her great strides in delivering one of the state’s most ambitious and challenging portfolios.
