Kelly R. Goforth, PMP, is the Director of Development for the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS). She is responsible for overseeing the advancement of Charlotte’s 2030 Transit System Plan, which calls for implementation of rapid transit in five growth corridors in the Charlotte Region.

Ms. Goforth has worked in the public transit field for over 30 years. Prior to her current role at CATS, she led the Project Development and Controls group and served as the Deputy Project Director for the LYNX Blue Line Extension project. Before joining CATS in 2004, she worked as for the Triangle Transit Authority in Raleigh-Durham.

Ms. Goforth holds a B.A. from Belmont Abbey College and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is also active in the Women’s Transportation Seminar, where she is a past Chapter President and Regional Council member.
