This publication offers guidelines on the ethical approach to completing certifications and sealing/stamping documents or drawings. The important areas to consider for ethically prepared certifications and stamped documents, drawings, and other deliverables include:
- Guidelines and requirements of the specific state where the work is being completed
- The professional’s experience level and expertise
- Stamping and/or certifying items the professional or his representative has been legitimately involved into the degree necessary to have the knowledge, data, records, and information required
- Preparing high-quality design and construction documents that meet agency minimum standards
