ACEC International Committee to meet with OPIC/DFC, Colombian Ambassador on Western Hemisphere Infrastructure

ACEC International Committee to meet with OPIC/DFC, Colombian Ambassador on Western Hemisphere Infrastructure

ACEC’s International Committee will meet with U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC) staff, Colombian Ambassador to the United States Francisco Santos and officials from the Colombian Embassy on Wednesday, February 26 at ACEC Headquarters.

The DFC was established in 2019 to strengthen and modernize American development finance by combining the capabilities of the OPIC and USAID’s Development Credit Authority.

Following opening remarks by Kristie Pellecchia, DFC’s Senior Advisor, Western Hemisphere, member firms will have a chance to talk with representatives of the Colombian government.

In Colombia, DFC financing is supporting construction of the Rumchaca-Pasto Toll Road, which is projected to serve almost seven million vehicles per year by 2020, reducing transit times, improving safety, and expanding a major commercial route to help farmers reach larger markets. In addition, Bogotá’s newly elected mayor has an infrastructure project pipeline worth over $6 billion.

Representatives of the Colombian Embassy have been eager to get in front of ACEC member firms to identify their country’s many upcoming projects, future infrastructure needs, and opportunities for U.S. firm involvement and partnerships.
