ACEC’s Bender Talks Transportation with U.S. Reps. Davis and Lipinski

ACEC’s Bender Talks Transportation with U.S. Reps. Davis and Lipinski

ACEC Vice President of Political Affairs Dave Bender moderated a panel discussion on transportation last night with Congressmen Rodney Davis (R-IL) and Dan Lipinski (D-IL).

Held at the National League of Cities building, the event drew representatives from all the major transportation stakeholders in Washington, D.C.

“These are two of the best advocates for transportation in the country,” said Bender, “and they are working in a bipartisan fashion to win a new federal infrastructure program.”

Bender said the congressmen “see a path forward to an infrastructure plan that is doable but is more likely next year.”

The lawmakers responded to a number of questions from stakeholders about transportation and related issues, including the possibility of the return of congressionally directed funds, often called earmarks.
