America’s Engineering Industry Congratulates President Biden and Vice President Harris

ACEC issued the following press release marking today’s Inaugural ceremonies:

On the behalf of America’s engineering firms and the hundreds of thousands of professionals they employ, the American Council of Engineers – the business voice of America’s engineering industry – congratulates President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on being sworn into office earlier today.

“America’s engineering firms are eager to help the Biden-Harris Administration ‘Build-Back-Better,’ and put its capacity for innovation at the nation’s disposal to enhance our infrastructure, grow the economy, address climate change, and design communities to support a more inclusive and diverse society,” said ACEC President and CEO Linda Bauer Darr.

Charles Gozdziewski, ACEC Board Chair said, “We are particularly supportive of the new Administration’s vision for a robust infrastructure-based recovery agenda in 2021. A package that increases long-term investments in surface transportation, aviation, drinking water and wastewater improvements, buildings, energy, rural broadband and other critical needs will help to jumpstart the nation’s recovery and provide the basis for long-term economic growth.”

“Engineers design public space, and as a result, we foster social interactions and our connection to each other.  Restoring that connection is needed now more than ever,” Darr added.

Last month, ACEC delivered a letter to the Biden transition team congratulating President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris on their election, and to introduce our policty priorities for the upcoming year.  That letter can be read here
