Senate EPW Leaders Call for FAST Act Rescission Repeal

Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Chair John Barrasso (R-WY) and Ranking Member Tom Carper (D-DE) joined the call to repeal the rescission of $7.6 billion in federal highway program funding on July 1, 2020.  ACEC has been working with AASHTO and dozens of other transportation stakeholders to eliminate the rescission in the context of any upcoming spending or budget deal.

U.S. Energy Storage Deployments Increase 232 Percent Year-over-Year

More than 148 megawatts of energy storage were deployed in the first quarter (Q1) of 2019, a 232 percent increase over Q1 2018, according to the Wood Mackenzie U.S. Energy Storage Monitor. Front-of-the-meter (FTM) deployments rose more than 500 percent year-over-year.

Survey Finds Americans Avoiding Automobile Travel Due To Highway Congestion

Americans avoided an estimated 47.5 million car trips last year because of highway congestion, according to a survey from the U.S. Travel Association (USTA). According to USTA economists, those avoided trips equated to $30 billion in travel spending and 248,000 jobs lost.
